It’s the fifth and final week of my amazing adventure teaching at Rinan Junior High School!
I have moved back to my first host family for the week, and I did not realize how much I missed them!
On the weekend, I spent another final day out with my second host family exploring Tamsui District, all the way in Taipei! A host family can simply house me and feed me, but my host family goes above and beyond to bring me around Taiwan during the weekends, and I can never thank you enough!
I was fortunate to have spare time in the week to play with the school drone and the Technology Club students. It was probably the most high-tech and expensive piece of equipment I have ever held, with a price tag in the thousands. Being able to see Rinan Township from the clouds was an experience I never thought I would get!
With the teachers, we made dumplings together for lunch one day, and the art of dumpling folding is harder than it looks!
Combined from the four schools I have visited; thoughtful teachers and students have showered me with cards and gifts and they represent the memories I will bring back to Canada!
From the bottom of my heart, I have enjoyed and truly been present for my final class visits this week, and I want to thank you all the students and teachers at Rinan for my worldly experience. Every 45-minute class that passes, I meet many bright minds and smiling faces; and I hope one day they can visit Canada to experience the beautiful place I call home.
